Several hundred attended the 10th Annual Veterans Freedom Music Festival on June 13 2021. This year, we teamed up with the Seniors Foundation to bring you a Special Victory Park Flag Day Drive-Through, brought to you by Cada Law and Carpets Direct.
Those that drove through Victory Park, on the Lincoln VA Campus at 600 South 70th Street, and tuned their radios to 107.7FM, enjoyed the ride. There was plenty to hear and see, right from the convenience of their cars! See below for details of the Victory Park Flag Day Drive-Through.
After the Victory Park drive through, there was an option to park in the Northeast parking lot to enjoy the 10th Annual Veterans Music Festival.
Opening Ceremonies and Music started at 12:00 NOON SHARP and the Event ended promptly at 5:00 PM!
Plans are already underway for the 2022 Veterans Freedom Music Festival!
The entertainment for this year was the best ever, and the hundreds attending had a great afternoon at 'A Sunday in the Park!' Some of the top entertainment in the Lincoln area was featured, offering a wide range of music and entertainment every hour from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM. The Bands who performed, generously donated their time and talent in support of our Veterans.
The Seniors Foundation’s Victory Park Flag Day Drive-Through was presented by Cada Law and Carpets Direct in partnership with the Veterans Freedom Music Festival!
The Seniors Foundation and Veterans Advisory Group organizations came together earlier this year in collaboration to help showcase the new Victory Park, honor Flag Day, and say thank you to our Veterans.
As you drove through Victory Park, there were sponsored booths with information for the aging and veterans. FREE flag stickers were handed out in honor of Flag Day too. There was also an opportunity to purchase a window flag for vehicles for a suggested donation. Hope for the day was to see flags everywhere! All window flag donations supported the Senior Foundation efforts for Aging Partners.
Attendees then went around the back and saw the soon to be new home of Aging Partners. Aging Partners plans, coordinates and advocates for older people in our eight-county area. Their mission is to enhance daily living, expand personal choices and educate the community in an effort to ensure the independence and full life of the people they serve.
LOCAL BAND LINE-UP AND EVENTS:
Thank you to this year’s bands who donated their time and talents.
This years new 'SUNDAY IN THE PARK' and Victory Park Flag Day Drive-Through Events was on the KISS principal (Keep It Simple Stupid). KISS was an idea developed by the US Navy way back in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated. To conform to the KISS idea, this years program was based on two main areas:
Visitors were encouraged to bring canned goods as separate Free Will Donations. There was a container 'near the corner of the parking lot to place those items.
This Event was open to the Public and best of all, Admission was FREE!!!
