The 10th Annual Veterans Freedom Music Festival at the Lincoln VA (Veteran's Administration) at 600 South 70th Street in Lincoln, will be rescheduled due to the Corona Virus Pandemic.
It is interesting to note that the the building is on the United State Registry and was completed in 1931. The building was the first Veterans Administration building in the US.
The Veterans Freedom Music Festival is originally the brain child of Terry Gillispie, from Lincoln Nebraska. In 2011, Terry asked Dave Rusk, a local radio executive and "self styled musician" if he would play some music for the veterans at the Lincoln VA hospital.
Dave played the first year, but both he and Terry saw an opportunity to turn his idea into something really meaningful for Lincoln families and as a way to honor our Veterans. '
Dave and Terry along with a host of volunteers and donors came together and formed the Veterans Freedom Music Festival as a benefit for veterans. The 2020 event will be will be rescheduled due to the Corona Virus Pandemic in the park at the Lincoln VA.
The Festival has grown quickly and 2020 will be our 10th year. The Top Bands in the area are featured, and this event quickly became "Lincoln's Largest FREE Outdoor Music Festival"!
